It All Started at a Wake…
Seriously, after a very long day of a funeral service, reception, graveside service, and a gathering of family and friends that evening, everyone was tired and emotionally worn out. Around the time everyone should be going home, one family member wasn’t getting the hint and entered – the prick zone. However! Good can come from bad. Just because you are dealing with a prick doesn’t mean you have to be one!
After some research into the night, by breakfast, the notion of using priks for good – PrikStix was born. Over the next few weeks, we worked on the product, formed a company, and shared a lot of laughter in the process.
After a few months, we could share the company’s name with a straight face – even to parents and clergy.
As our company evolved, we found these firestarters – with “attitude” could be used for happier moments – not just say goodbye to something negative, but also hello to new beginnings, celebrations and holidays. We expanded our products to include JoyStix and HoliStixs (not a person, like holidays) to light fires with happiness and gratitude – ok, and sometimes, some naughty fun. Think Bach parties and a funny alternative for Santa Coal. Useable products that are natural, practical and still funny as heck instead of boring ‘ole gag gift that ultimatly will live in a trash bin.
We changed our name to FunzStix to include the ways we have found to mark and celebrate the many chapters of life.
We continue to find good uses for these fun-filled flame starters and hope you find ways to celebrate your milestones or spark a cozy fire with FunzStix too. Remeber, you can customize FunzStix with messages that are meaning for you!

Our Process
The Hand Made Process
1. Blank sticks are individually hand shaped by Gavin, our in-house craftsman.
2. Once shaped the tips are hand painted/stained pink (sealed with a kiss).
3. Each stick is then customized using our LaserPecker.
4. Bundles then made with our custom wooden company logo, shrink wrapped and instruction label.
5. Ready to Ship.
Fatwood Facts!
Fatwood
Fatwood is one of the most efficient and all-natural ways to get a fire going in your fireplace, wood stove or campfire—just a couple of sticks is all you need. Ours is cut from resin-saturated heartwood found in the stumps of Georgia pines. The abundance of resin creates a hot flame that makes it perfect for kindling wood fires. FunStix Fatwood Facts
We enhance the “time to flame,” with the proprietary shape of our fatwood making them easier and faster to light. The non-toxic, tinted tip helps you to see the best place to light. The stain is not any kind of accelerant, is not flammable, and does not ignite on its own. The fatwood is what creates the flame when ignited.
